As reported previously, domestic rebar prices in Italy were generally at €505-515/mt ($616-628/mt) ex-works last week. However, yesterday, January 16, there have been reports of increases of €20-30/mt in local producers' prices.

Such increases are due to higher domestic scrap prices and good demand from abroad, both from Europe and North Africa. If such increases are accepted in the coming days, market prices would settle at about €525-535/mt ($641-653/mt) ex-works.
