According to sources, domestic rebar demand in Italy is still very slack. While prices in the local Italian rebar market had decreased by €7.5/mt in the previous week, they have declined by a further €10/mt in the past week to €470-475/mt ($526-532/mt) ex-works on average.

Meanwhile, Italian producers' offers to the export markets have trended sideways at €480/mt ($538/mt) FOB, though market sources have reported a slowdown in sales in the past week. According to sources, Italian producers will use the holiday period in April to reduce their production and try to support prices.
