Demand declines for southern European rebar due to Christmas holiday

According to market sources, Spanish and Italian rebar offers to the export markets have decreased by €5-10/mt ($5.5-11/mt) over the past week to €325-330/mt ($354-360/mt) FOB, for January shipment. Italian and Spanish rebar suppliers state that demand in export markets has declined further due to Christmas holiday. Meanwhile, market sources report that an Algerian buyer has concluded a Spanish rebar deal this week at €325/mt ($354/mt) FOB.
