Domestic rebar prices have increased further in the Italian market after rebounding last week. However, local sources said it is extremely difficult to give an exact reference price. Most local producers have increased their offers to €420-430/mt ex-works amid a lack of material and improved demand in Europe, while deal prices were at €390-400/mt ex-works up to mid-November. However, at the start of this week at least two Italian producers raised their rebar offers to about €450-460/mt ex-works. For now, no deals have been closed at this price level, according to sources. The situation has become even more confused as one local long steel producer is temporarily unable to manage and ship its products due to a cyber attack it suffered last Thursday night.
