One Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has opened its wire rod sales today, January 27, at TRY 5,050/mt ($684/mt) ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. Market sources consider this price level to be a quite aggressive one since the general wire rod list price range in Turkey stands at $710-720/mt ex-works. “The abovementioned wire rod price is pretty low, but they might be trying to generate sales before their maintenance in February,” one source mentioned. Another wire rod supplier in the Iskenderun region is offering at $715-720/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has been informed.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
