During the week ending August 31, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have moved on a stable trend. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $360-370/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $380-390/mt FOB.

During the given week, the previous rising movement of domestic rebar and wire rod prices has been replaced by a soft trend, negatively affecting export offer prices for rebar and wire rod, with most exporters holding their offer prices stable. With rebar futures prices in China also having indicated declines, it is thought that Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod will likely move on a slight downtrend in the coming week.
