Chinese domestic steel section prices have followed a slight fluctuation trend during the past week.
As for billet, prices of the semi-finished steel product in the Chinese domestic market have slightly reduced during past week. In Tangshan, the current price of Q235 150 x 150 mm square billet is at RMB 2,940/mt ($409/mt), the price of 165 x 225 mm rectangular billet stands at RMB 2,960/mt ($412/mt), while the price of 20MnSi billet is at around RMB 3,040/mt ($423/mt). The prices are all ex-mill, including 13 percent VAT.
Chinese steel section prices have fluctuated in small margin during the past week. Overall trading activity has been at normal levels. Upstream billet prices have showed a fluctuation with slightly reduce trend which mainly lead certain section traders choose to follow. Demand side mostly kept wait and see stance and not willing to increase their stock level. As for the week ahead, it is believed that steel section prices mostly likely to keep fluctuating in small margins.
