Turkish integrated steel mill Kardemir opened its domestic rebar sales earlier today, October 7, closing its sales of this product within a couple of hours. The new offer price was at TRY 3,462/mt ($441/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 27/mt, down by $19/mt on US dollar basis, compared to the price last month. The offer is valid for 500 mt and above orders, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral. Sources report that approximately 34,000 mt of rebar was traded.

Kardemir’s rebar sales price is lower than the general price range in Turkey. Yesterday, the general domestic rebar price range in Turkey was at $450-452/mt ex-works for producers, while local traders were offering at $443-449/mt ex-warehouse.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
