SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

628-634

Thrace

630-638

Izmir

614-622

Iskenderun

-

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis.

Price levels in the Turkish wire rod market are currently at $614-638/mt ex-works. Supply shortages still prevail in the local market, while an Iskenderun region-based steel mill is not giving wire rod offers at the moment due to its overhaul works which will last throughout April. Turkish wire rod mills are not willing to give discounts, while, finding domestic prices to be on the high side, local buyers have turned towards the CIS market, with ex-CIS wire rod deals in Turkey being concluded at $570-585/mt CFR.

Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
