Wire rod exports from Brazil remain continue to increase, sources note, with 67,500 mt exported in June, against 45,300 mt in May and 39,300 mt in April.
The exports in June were destined to the US (34,900 mt at $1,459/mt), to Latin American countries (16,900 mt at $886/mt) to Senegal (11,100 mt at $885/mt) and to Belgium (4,600 mt at $880/mt), all FOB conditions.
ArcelorMittal exported 43,900 mt at $1,331/mt, while Gerdau exported 22,600 mt at $899/mt and Simec exported 1,000 mt at $984/mt.
The average unit price of ArcelorMittal was positively affected by its exports of a high-grade product, at $1,459/mt, destined to produce steel cord to serve the pneumatic tire industry.
Meanwhile, Brazil imported in June 800 mt of wire rod, of which 500 mt at $ 1,226/mt from Germany, 200 mt at $1,236/mt from China, and smaller volumes from Japan and South Korea, also FOB conditions.
