Little, if anything has changed within the US import HDG and Galvalume coil market since our last report a week ago.
However, as with last week, some import Galvalume coil offers are priced up to $2.00 cwt ($22/mt or $20/nt) below domestic offers, however, it’s not clear whether the recent price rally for domestic flat rolled steel products is sustainable. Should domestic pricing begin to subside, it may soon be cheaper to buy from local mills as opposed to booking tons offshore.
