US import HDG prices stable, but poised to firm

US import HDG prices are mostly stable, week-over-week, although trader sources have said that offshore mills are pushing to get prices higher. Orders and activity are steady, but cautious, as demand is still tepid and there are concerns about future manufacturing shutdowns as new COVID-19 hotspots have begun to emerge throughout the US. As of Tuesday, more than 23 states are reporting upticks in both infection and hospitalization rates.
