The Trump administration could release its findings of the Section 232 investigation as soon as this week.
In a Monday afternoon press briefing, the president’s press secretary said that when the findings come out, “there are certain recommendations that will be made to Congress to address anti-dumping provisions in the steel and aluminum and other markets.”
And if Trump’s statements last week, where he indicated ““Wait [until] you see what I’m going to do for steel and for your steel companies. We’re going to stop the dumping and stop all of these wonderful other countries from coming in and killing our companies and our workers,” are any indication of what’s to come, the US import HDG market could soon be facing steep tariffs.
For now, market activity is quiet.
