Spot market prices for US domestic HDG and Galvalume coil continue to rise, sources note, adding that while lead times are still stable (and holding at approximately 12 weeks), demand remains robust.
“The [price] rally has continued, but a lot of us still wonder how much longer this is going to last,” a source said. “There’s new capacity that’s about to come online, and there’s a lot of people who still think the market is out of whack.”
Others, however, note that spot market tons are limited, at best, in December, and believe that prices could continue to firm into the New Year.
