Sources close to Steel Orbis have confirmed that spot market prices for US domestic HDG and Galvalume coil have continued to firm, week-over-week, adding that the price range in which mills are quoting base price HDG and Galvalume coil remains “significant.”
As in previous weeks, sources are reporting that lead times are long and that spot market tons are hard to come by, which some find to be confusing, in that AISI data suggests that for week ending August 7, 2021, domestic mills’ capacity utilization rate was recorded at 84.8 percent.
