Spot market prices for US domestic HDG and Galvalume coil are mostly stable since our last report a week ago, although some sources close to SteelOrbis believe that additional upward adjustments could on the horizon.
“There are a lot of [production] outages between now and the end of the year, and I think that’s going to have an impact on price,” a source said.
Others, however, point to the slowing down of recent increases, and feel the market is at or near its ceiling. “It’s a crap shoot at this point,” a Midwest-based source added. “I feel like we’re either at the top of the market or we’re close. Prices are already obscene. I can’t imagine that they’ll go up too much farther than they already have.”
