Not much, if anything has changed within the US domestic and import cold rolled coil (CRC) market in the past seven days, as domestic prices continue to hold at approximately $35.70-$39.00 cwt. ($827-$860/mt or $750-$780/nt) ex-Midwest mill, while futures pricing from China is still trending approximately $6.00 cwt. ($132/mt or $120/nt) below domestic pricing and $3.00 cwt. ($66/mt or $60/nt) below futures offers out of India.
“Order activity isn’t bad, but it’s also not great,” according to one Midwest distributor. Inquiries are steady, but at this time, mill lead times are starting to shrink, which is causing the market to settle.
