While the demand in the Turkish cold-rolled coil (CRC) and coated steel markets still rather slow, some of the sellers have chosen to adjust their prices upwards, not being under pressure to conclude urgent sales. Others have kept the offers for some of the prices stable over the week, but have decreased prices for other materials.
Currently, local HDG prices in Turkey are at $845-880/mt ex-works, almost in line with last week. Some mills, however, have pulled up their offers from the lower end of the range to around $860-870/mt ex-works. Domestic PPGI prices, on the other hand, have declined by $20-35/mt over the past week to $945-990/mt ex-works due to low demand. “Prices are still not good for us and, although there has been a movement in sales in the past two days, we have kept our local prices stable,” a producer told SteelOrbis.
In the CRC segment, domestic prices are in the range of $750-805/mt ex-works, down $5-30/mt over the past week. In the import segment, South Korea is now at $760-770/mt CFR and China has offered at $680/mt CFR. Russia is not actively in the market, but considers $690-700/mt FOB with around $25/mt estimated freight.
