In the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market have remained at low levels as buyers have continued to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs. In the same period, Turkish producers' HDG prices have increased by $10/mt on the upper end against the backdrop of the rises seen last week in domestic prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for HDG production.

Domestic producers' HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

700-730

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

640-660

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

Meanwhile, overseas buyers of Turkish HDG exports have maintained their wait-and-see stance. Demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets is currently at low levels, while Turkish HDG export offers have moved up by $10/mt week on week to $680-710/mt FOB.
