Demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market is still poor, while domestic prices have indicated no changes over the past week. However, discounts of up to $10/mt are now available in the market. In the previous weeks, mills' prices had declined by $55/mt, though the decreases did not help demand to recover.

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,040-1,110/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $900-940 /mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $820-865/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, on the export side demand for ex-Turkey PPGI offers, which are at $890-930/mt FOB, having declined by $10/mt since last week, has remained depressed due to the adverse seasonal conditions and high inventory levels in the target markets.
