Local cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have indicated a significant jump after the holiday in Turkey, taking into account the surge in local mills’ hot rolled coil (HRC) offers, i.e., both domestic and import offers. However, demand for CRC remains insufficient.

Turkey-based re-rollers have increased their local CRC offers by $40/mt since before the holiday to $570-590/mt ex-works as a general offer range for October production. Some suppliers prefer not to offer for now, while some voice prices up to $600/mt ex-works. “Demand is not sufficient for this jump to be accepted easily. But if HRC holds, everything is possible,” a producer told SteelOrbis.

Domestic HRC prices from mills have hit $500/mt ex-works in offers, while import HRC is mainly available within $480-500/mt CFR depending on the supplier and the origin.
