According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market is still on the weak side, while prices have remained unchanged over the past week. Market players state that buyers are still making purchases only to meet their immediate needs, due to year-end considerations. At present, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $795-820/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $680-715/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $600-635/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for January production.
Meanwhile, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export market is still slack and Turkish PPGI export prices have remained stable week on week at $660-700/mt FOB for January production, while buyers still consider this price range to be on the high side.
