Jiangsu Province-based Shagang Group, China’s largest private steelmaker, has issued its list prices for steel plate for June this year.
Accordingly, the company has raised its offer price for 20 mm x 2,000 mm Q235B steel plate by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt) to RMB 3,850/mt ($564.5/mt) ex-works, for delivery in June.
Previously, the producer had kept its offer price for 20 mm x 2,000 mm Q235B steel plate stable at RMB 3,850/mt ex-works, for delivery in May.
The flat steel segment in China has been performing better than longs amid better demand from the upgrading of the manufacturing industry, the relatively high levels of raw material prices and the expected tight supplies to the market due to the maintenance works of some steelmakers.
