According to market sources, demand for hot rolled coil (HRC) imports in Turkey has remained slack this week. Market sources state that the uncertain market sentiment following the June 7 general election has continued to be observed during the past week and so buyers are in no rush to conclude new HRC deals. In advance of a preliminary decision in the antidumping duty investigation launched by Turkey on January 28 this year against hot rolled coil imports from seven countries, Turkish buyers, who are seeking to avoid potential antidumping measures, are focusing on purchases from their domestic market.

Russian HRC offers to the Turkish market are currently at $375-385/mt CFR, while ex-Ukraine HRC offers to Turkey are at $360-370/mt CFR and Chinese HRC offers are at $355/mt CFR. All these prices have remained unchanged over the past week.
