SteelOrbis has been informed that demand in the local Vietnamese hot rolled coil (HRC) market is still characterized by weakness. Meanwhile, buyers in Vietnamese market are more cautious about continuing to conclude deals after the decline in ex-China HRC prices.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market are currently in the range of VND 9,400-9,500/kg ($435-440/mt) ex-warehouse, while prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness are now at VND 9,700-9,800/kg ($449-454/mt) ex-warehouse, both unchanged over the past two weeks, with all prices for April delivery.

On the other hand, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam have decreased by $10/mt as compared to two weeks ago and are now at $380-385/mt CFR, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness to the same destination have also declined, down by $25/mt over the same period to $385-388/mt CFR, both for June shipment.
