Although demand in the Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has remained on the weak side, some local mills' prices have increased by $5/mt since last week against the backdrop of higher hot rolled coil (HRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices.

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,015-1,080/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $875-925 /mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $795-845/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, June production ex-Turkey PPGI offers are now at $860-920/mt FOB, $5/mt higher as compared to last week. Demand on the export side is low. The domestic price increases have been reflected in export offers, but foreign buyers have been hesitating to conclude new bookings at the increased price levels.
