Price of Brazilian HRC returns to January levels

After an 8 percent increase in February, the price of HRC in the Brazilian domestic market has returned to the same level of January, a medium-sized distributor in Rio de Janeiro told SteelOrbis.

According to the source, the trend is attributed to reduced sales volumes that prompted distributors to reduce prices.

HRC of the basic commercial grades is now sold by distributors in the domestic market, in small to medium sized tonnages, at BRL4,160/mt ($1,329/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI.

$1 = BRL 3.137 (March 23)
