The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $910/mt today, against $890/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In January, Brazil exported 33,900 mt and imported 53,100 mt of HDG against respectively 23,600 mt and 30,400 mt in December.
The exports in January were destined to the US (22,900 mt at $936/mt) and to South American countries (11,000 mt at $1,137/mt), shipped by Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) (23,000 mt at $936/mt), ArcelorMittal (6,300 mt at $1,196/mt), and Usiminas (4,600 mt at $1,058/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports were from China (46,700 mt at $636/mt), South Korea (5,300 mt at $995/mt), Italy (700 mt at $1,439/mt), and Portugal (400 mt at $1,470/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,400/mt ($1,125/mt), against BRL 6,500/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
