Having an opportunity to reduce their costs stemming from the decline in import hot rolled coil (HRC) prices, Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CR) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have decided to revise their offers for their domestic market downwards. Specifically, on December 2, the major Pakistan-based mills have announced a PKR 8,000/mt ($45/mt) decrease in offer prices of CR and HDG coils, SteelOrbis has learned. However, due to the continuing currency fluctuations, the dollar-based quotations have declined by $87-93/mt compared to the previous levels. As SteelOrbis has mentioned earlier, the latest deal for ex-Taiwan HRC has been done at $855/MT CFR Karachi.
