Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CR) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have issued new offer prices for their domestic market at higher levels, aiming to offset their input costs.
Accordingly, local prices of CR and HDG coils have increased by PKR 5,000/mt ($22/mt) compared to the previous offers, though, given the slight appreciation of the Pakistani rupee, dollar-based quotations have increased by around $26-27/mt, depending on the product.
Meanwhile, the strong uptrend in the global HRC market and in Asia as well has also influenced the import market in Pakistan, though trade activity has remined muted as Pakistani buyers have been facing problems with opening letters of credit (LCs). The latest offers for imported SAE1006 HRC have been voiced at $630-650/mt CFR, depending on supplier, up by $10-20/mt compared week on week.
