SteelOrbis has heard from market sources that July production hot rolled coil (HRC) import offers in the Omani domestic market are still at $625-630/mt CFR Oman, excluding VAT and for advance payment. However, it is thought that discounts of about $10/mt are also possible in the market for larger orders.

HRC demand in Oman is expected to slow down during Ramadan which starts in mid-July this year, while most local buyers have already purchased the products that they will use during August. The capacity usage rates of Oman's HRC consuming industries are still high, while local HRC buyers think HRC import prices are at workable levels.
