Mexican CRC prices rise slightly

In the last four weeks, the price of Mexican domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) increased US$13/mt to reach US$653/mt ex-mill.

While the price trend is in line with global markets, the fact is that at the behavior of the exchange market in the country is important in stimulating domestic production.

Industry sources said that emphasis should be placed on increasing the local content in the exportable supply and the products that are sold in the domestic market. Moreover, they insisted that the increased cost of imports represents an opportunity to consume products made in Mexico, attracting investment and strengthening the domestic market.
