During the past week, demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has remained at low levels, while prices have declined slightly during negotiations. Despite the declines in prices, market sources expect no revival in domestic PPGI demand in the short term due to Turkey’s negative economic outlook.
Turkish producers' domestic PPGI prices are currently at $945-975/mt for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI, at $785-815/mt for RAL 9002 0.5 mm PPGI and at $680-720/mt for RAL 9002 1 mm PPGI. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
In the given period, price inquiries for Turkish coated coil in target export markets has continued, while Turkish mills have showed the same flexibility in their export offers as they did in their domestic markets. Turkish PPGI export offers have decreased by $10/mt on the lower end week on week to $785-805/mt FOB.
