Following the ongoing increase in import hot rolled coil (HRC) offers, Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have again revised their prices for material produced in the August-September period. “The main reason for our adjustments are the still fast rising costs of production, not so much activity in the end-use sectors. Nowadays, mainly investors are purchasing, speculating on a further price rise,” a representative of a Pakistani flats producer commented.
Accordingly, prices for CRC and HDG in Pakistan have increased further by PKR 3,000/mt ($18/mt) compared to offers a week ago. The dollar-based quotations have risen by $27-28/mt due to the revaluation of the Pakistani rupee.
