Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CR) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have continued to increase prices for the second consecutive week on the back of rising input costs, SteelOrbis has learned on Tuesday, November 17.
Accordingly, CRC and HDG prices in Pakistan have risen further by PKR 4,000/mt (about $25/mt) compared to previous offers. The dollar-based quotations have increased by $32-33/mt due to the revaluation of the Pakistani rupee. “Pakistani flats producers are forced to adapt to the volatility of the current market. The recent increases are due to the HRC price hike,” a representative of a Pakistani mill commented. Indeed, this week import hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Pakistan have exceeded $600/mt CFR.
