Prices in the local Italian flat steel market have indicated different trends over the past week. Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the local Italian market have remained stable at €435-470/mt ($461-498/mt), while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have remained unchanged at €540-570/mt ($572-604/mt), both ex-works. Meanwhile, hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices in the local market have increased by €10/mt ($11/mt) week on week to €530-560/mt ($562-594/mt) ex-works.

According to market sources, prices in the local Italian flat steel market are expected to increase by €20/mt ($21/mt) in the short term amid tight supply. Trading activity for domestic products in the market is at good levels with the support from ongoing antidumping investigations against imported products.
