Prices in the local Italian flat steel market have remained stable over the past week. Accordingly, hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are still at €420-470/mt ($466-522/mt), while cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices are unchanged at €540-570/mt ($600-634/mt) and €520-550/mt ($577-610/mt) respectively, all ex-works and for delivery in January and February.
In the meantime, demand for domestic flat steel has improved slightly, with some customers starting to book orders for the first quarter of 2017.

On the import side, offers are on the scarce side due to antidumping cases and this scenario will allow local Italian producers to increase their prices in the coming weeks.
