China’s domestic stainless steel prices have followed a stable trend during the past week.
Global nickel prices are slightly higher compared to one week ago. On February 13, the three-month nickel price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $13,450/mt, while LME nickel inventory on the same date totaled 341,160 mt.
Most traders in the Chinese domestic stainless steel market began their holidays last Friday and so overall trading activity has been at very low levels this week. It is believed that domestic stainless steel prices may continue their stable trend after the holiday as many traders are not expected to be back in the market until March.
