During the week ending April 25, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have edged down slightly, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, following previous rises in domestic HDG prices, buyers have been unwilling to conclude purchases and have mostly been maintaining a wait-and-see stance. At the same time, sellers have reduced their prices by a small margin. Meanwhile, the approach of Labor Day holiday (May 1-4) will exert a negative impact on HDG prices. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a soft trend in the coming week.
