During the week ending September 7, the average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have edged up further, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the table below.
During the given week, although demand from downstream users has not indicated any significant improvement, domestic HDG prices have edged up further as the rising trends of other finished steel product prices have positively influenced the HDG market. In September, new higher-cost HDG supplies have been arriving in the market, which will provide some support for the HDG market. It is thought that HDG prices will likely move sideways in the coming week.
