The HRC trade in Pakistan has been more active this week, with prices showing divergent trends as Chinese suppliers have continued to decrease prices in order to attract customers while suppliers from Taiwan have decided to keep them stable. Japanese exporters, in the meantime, have slightly increased the level of offers over the past two weeks due to limited availability.
More specifically, following a deal for 2,000 mt of ex-China SS400 HRC at $565/mt CFR Pakistan, the material has changed hands at $563/mt CFR by the end of the week. This means the prices have lost around $7-10/mt over the past two weeks. Offers for ex-China SAE1006 HRC have been heard at $580-590/mt CFR for October shipment, down by $5/mt over the past two weeks.
Ex-Taiwan SAE1006 HRC offers have moved sideways, standing at $600-610/mt CFR, with a deal for around 10,000 mt reportedly signed at $600/mt CFR this week.
At the same time, Japanese suppliers have increased their prices for SAE1006 HRC by around $10/mt on average to $600/mt CFR. Besides, according to sources, several deals for around 30,000 mt in total have been signed at $600/mt CFR during the past two weeks.
