Since early November 2017, Brazilian producers have continued to negotiate hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) for export in a FOB price range of $820/mt to $840/mt, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is sold by distributors at BRL 4,850/mt ($1,542/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the Z-100, 1.11mm thickness product as reference. The price compares with BRL 4,600/mt two weeks ago, still reflecting an overall readjustment for flat steel prices established by all local producers.
The last HDG offer received by Brazilian importers from China was priced at $680/mt, FOB conditions, a price stable over five weeks. In December 2017, Brazil imported 6,600 mt of HDG, of which 4,500 mt from China at $690/mt, FOB conditions.
Also in December, CSN exported HDG at $810/mt, Usiminas at $882/mt and ArcelorMittal at $654/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in October.
