Average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market are currently at the same levels as one week ago, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, the significant declines in the Chinese ferrous metal futures market contributed to the downtrend of domestic PPGI spot prices in the first half of the week. However, given the steel production restrictions for the One Belt One Road Forum and the shutdown of all substandard steel production, domestic PPGI prices in the latter part of the week moved back up to their previous levels. Meanwhile, demand from downstream users have improved. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
