Despite the reduced demand from the lackluster performance of most industrial sectors in Brazil, a distributor in Rio de Janeiro told SteelOrbis that he will increase the price of CRC from today’s BRL2,070/mt ($545/mt) to BRL2,256/mt ($593/mt), FOB full taxes except IPI for the basic commercial grades, adding that the increase will compensate for the local inflation, as the current price is the same in BRL since January 2015.

A distributor in Sao Paulo, dedicated to the supply of higher grade products, cut to length and galvanized to the auto industry, said he is selling the product in average at BRL3,800/mt ($998/mt), FOB full taxes conditions, while a distributor in the south of the country said that he is selling CRC since January at BRL2,550/mt ($670/mt), FOB full taxes except IPI.

In October, CSN exported CRC at $477/mt and Usiminas exported the product at $592/mt, both FOB conditions.
