Demand still weak in local Turkish HRC market

Demand for Turkish producers' hot rolled coil (HRC) products in their domestic market has remained sluggish in the past week, while buyers in Turkey are cautious about concluding new bookings and are making purchases only to meet their immediate needs against the backdrop of recent political tensions in the country. In these circumstances, trading activity for local producers' products in the domestic market is quite slow, while the local producers have kept their domestic offer prices unchanged week on week at $400-430/mt ex-works.
 
Meanwhile, the volume of inquiries in the local Turkish HRC spot market has not met market players' expectations and demand is slack, while traders have also kept their prices stable.
 
The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
