Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained at good levels. Meanwhile, Turkish mills are expected to increase their coated coil prices if hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations continue to rise.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Weekly Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

750-780

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

705-730

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets has weakened during the past week as purchases have almost been completed with buyers now seen to be maintaining a wait-and-see stance. Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have remained stable week on week at $740-770/mt FOB.
