Turkey-based re-rollers continue to face challenging market conditions amid still low demand and declining hot rolled coil (HRC) offers. As a result, they have once again provided discounts for their products in order to attract some orders.
In the hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) segment, domestic offers have settled at $1,210-1,230/mt ex-works for 0.5 mm Z100, down $20/mt on the upper end over the past week. The market players report these levels are negotiable, specifically from the mills that are traditionally aggressive in selling in this challenging market. 2 mm HDG with the same coating is available at $1,130-1,160/mt ex-works, although some mills are reportedly ready to deal at $1,110/mt ex-works for the mentioned specification.
Local pre-painting galvanized coils (PPGI) are on offer at $1,270-1,330/mt ex-works base, again down $20/mt on the upper end over the past week.
As for cold rolled coils (CRC), domestic prices in Turkey have dipped by $20-30/mt over the past week to $1,050-1,080/mt ex-works base. One of the mills is ready to negotiate at $1,020-1,040/mt ex-works, which is the lowest price currently seen in the market.
