Persisting increase of the steel production costs in Turkey, resulting from the higher energy tariffs, continues having an impact on the finished steel prices. The trend has also been reflected in the coated and cold-rolled coil (CRC) markets, where the suppliers increased their offers significantly, despite the demand is still slow.

Currently, the domestic HDG prices in Turkey are at $880-915/mt ex-works base, up by $50-55/mt over the week. The PPGI offers have been raised by $20-50/mt over the same period to $980-1,030/mt ex-works base.

In the CRC segment, the local offers are at $840-860/mt ex-works, $30-40/mt up. However, some of the suppliers admit the workable price levels are by around $20/mt lower than that.
