As of September 29, most traders had already left the domestic steel plate market ahead of China's National Day holiday (October 1-7), while some of the traders still at work in the market slightly raised their plate offers by RMB 30/mt (5/mt), though their increased prices did not attract any interest. Market activity has become very quiet. It is reported that most traders are not so positive on the prospects for the post-holiday market, especially due to the anticipated arrival of significant volumes of low-priced materials in the market.
It is expected that the Chinese steel plate market will be characterized by varied offer price levels after the holiday.
