During the week ending December 13, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have been almost stable, just edging up very slightly, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, some shortages of supply and higher ex-works prices from certain Chinese steelmakers have provided support for domestic CRC prices in China, though slack demand from downstream users has exerted negative pressure on the CRC market. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
